Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes original Metal Gear Solid in Jap

first_imgMetal Gear Solid designer Hideo Kojima took some time on Twitter to break down in greater detail the regional differences between releases of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, the updated compilation release of the Metal Gear Solid saga for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.In either territory, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 have been given graphical overhauls to run at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. Those two games serve as the core of a package full of playable MGS goodies that let players fill out their collections of the games on modern consoles. On @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN, a translated English feed from his official Japanese account, Kojima first spelled out what Japan gets, and it’s a doozy. The Japanese package includes MGS2 and 3, as was announced at this year’s E3, but also includes a download code for the original Metal Gear Solid. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Kojima also tweeted that MGS2 and 3 are the Substance and Subsistence versions respectively, which were effectively “director’s cut” releases with enhancements left out of the initial releases. Since MGS3 Subsistence shipped with the original 8-bit Metal Gear 1 and 2 on the disc, this updated collection will include those games as well (but still in the original 8-bit).The US, described as “overseas” on Kojima’s tweets, has that whole package with one difference. The Americans do not get the original MGS but instead get an upgraded version of the PSP title Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.Lastly, Kojima tweeted images of the PS3 Trophy icons (seen above) that will ship with that version of the game. MGS HD Collection is due out in November.via Twitterlast_img
