first_img THE political wing of the New IRA – the dissident republican terror group which admitted murdering journalist Lyra McKee – has condemned a police raid on its Derry officers.Police have been conducting a search operation at Soaradh’s headquarters at Junior McDaid house on Tuesday, May 7.Detectives entered the Chamberlain Street building around lunchtime and took away a number of items. A police sniffer dog has also been deployed during the search of the premises close to the Bogside.Saoradh has been ordered to leave its Londonderry office following the murder of journalist Lyra Mckee.The group, which was founded in 2016, was issued with an eviction notice from Junior McDaid House days after Lyra McKee’s murder in Creggan on Thursday, April 18.In a statement this afternoon, Saoradh said: “Once again the National Offices of Saoradh, Junior McDaid House, is being targeted by British Crown Forces in another heavy handed rapid entry raid.
