Prison escapee back in jail on armed robbery charge

The prosecution is contending that Long held the victim at weapon point and robbed him of his valuables. Cummings was also beaten during the process of the robbery.However, the victim was able to grasp the attention of a nearby police patrol that was in the vicinity. Reports are the police were able to arrest Long a short distance away with the items in his possession.Bail for Long was opposed by the prosecutor on the grounds that he may be a flight risk and that he also has matters of a similar nature pending before the said court. The prosecution’s submissions were upheld and Long was remanded to prison.Long was among other inmates who escaped from the Lusignan Prison by digging a hole under the fence during July 2017. However, after being recaptured, he pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment. He was released from prison last year.
